Keep’n It Country

On Friday May, 3rd gate 1 will be open to all participating Friday Night students.

The gate opens at 5pm.  Pre-sale tickets being sold at the schools for $20.00.

At the gate the tickets will be $30.00.  Get your tickets!

The 62nd annual Elk Grove Western Festival celebrating this year’s theme Keep’n it Country. Join us for a weekend filled with fun and excitement and help us celebrate the 5th annual Elk Grove Western Festival & BBQ Championship brought to Elk Grove courtesy of the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS).

WHEN? Friday, May 3rd – Sunday, May 5th
WHERE? At the Elk Grove Regional Park

The Carnaval starts things off Friday night, and the festivities continue with the Western Festival Parade on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. The parade starts at the  corner of Elk Grove Boulevard and Emerald Oak Drive.

All parade entries will be judged on their ability to celebrate the history of the Elk Grove Western Festival as it has been celebrated for the past 61 years. Judges will be looking for the creative interpretation of this year’s theme Keep’n it Country.

Elk Grove Western Feestival

Come and join us for three days of family fun and excitement at Elk Grove Regional Park. It will be a weekend filled with wonderful entertainment, great food, classic cars, art exhibition showing the talents of your local High School Students, the Kid’s Zone, Crafter’s and our fabulous carnival of fun.

KCBS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying barbeque, is the world’s largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 19,000 members worldwide. Come join in on the fun and excitement, become a volunteer for this year’s Elk Grove Western Festival. There’s plenty to do and lots to see and help is always appreciated.

If you love a parade, come and assist with this year’s parade titled  Keep’n it Country. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

  • Parade Marshals
  • Parade Registration
  • Parade Route Set-up
  • Judging Coordinator
  • Reviewing Stand Set-up/Tear-down
  • Hospitality/Food

2019 Poster Contest

The Elk Grove Western Festival 2019 Poster Contest is open to all high school junior and senior students in the EGUSD. The 62nd annual festival will be held from Friday evening May 3rd through May 5th and this year’s theme is “Keep’n It Country.”

The winning entry will be used in the Festival’s marketing/advertising campaign. The three winning entries will be displayed at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center, 9080 Elk Grove Blvd. in Old Town Elk Grove and during the Festival, at the Elk Grove Community Art Show in the Elk Grove Regional Park Pavilion. Arrangements will be made for artwork to be picked up by students. Please invite your family and friends to these two free shows. All entries become the property of the EGWF organization.
